I help classifieds and marketplace teams manage search visibility across categories, listings, filters, and location pages. The work covers technical SEO, website architecture, rendering, and the rules that decide which pages should be indexed. I work with your product and engineering teams so SEO requirements become part of the platform and its release process.

The work behind the service
Decide which pages your platform should expose in search
A marketplace can generate new URLs whenever a user changes a category, filter, location, sort order, or search term. Some of those pages answer a useful customer need. Others repeat the same inventory or lead to empty results. Listing availability changes too, while the category pages need to remain useful over time. I review the platform’s URL patterns and page types together, then define how discovery, indexing, and content should work as the inventory grows. The scope can cover a country-specific classifieds website or a marketplace operating across several languages and markets.
Scope and deliverables
What I can work on
We agree on the scope after reviewing your requirements. A project can focus on one of these areas or combine the relevant work.
Category, location, and filter architecture
Map the relationships between categories, subcategories, locations, and useful filter combinations. Define which combinations deserve a stable landing page and how users and crawlers should reach them through navigation and internal links.
Crawling and indexing rules
Investigate parameters, internal search URLs, pagination, duplicate paths, canonicals, and sitemap coverage. Document page-type rules and exceptions so your developers can implement a consistent approach rather than fixing individual URLs.
Listing lifecycle and inventory changes
Define the handling of active, sold, expired, removed, and temporarily unavailable listings. Review empty categories and low-inventory pages, including their response behaviour, links, and the information available to visitors.
Rendering and web performance
Review the initial HTML and rendered output for category and listing templates. Investigate missing content, JavaScript navigation, slow interactions, and layout behaviour with your frontend and infrastructure teams.
Product-led and programmatic SEO
Identify useful search pages that can be supported by actual inventory, attributes, and product features. Prepare template requirements, internal linking rules, and checks for pages that lack distinct information.
Release checks and monitoring
Turn the agreed rules into developer tickets and acceptance criteria. Review representative releases and automate selected checks for URL changes, indexing directives, templates, and sitemap output.
Working together
How the project works
Map the platform and inventory
We identify the business model, markets, page types, URL patterns, and the way listings enter and leave the website.
Investigate and define the rules
I compare representative pages with the available crawl, log, and search data, then prepare priorities and implementation requirements.
Work through implementation
I discuss the changes with product and engineering, validate released templates, and review the evidence before extending the work.
Experience and related work
Experience with large websites and product-driven SEO
My freelance portfolio includes OpenSooq. It also documents work involving indexing and crawling strategy for more than five million pages, product-led landing pages, changes from client-side to server-side rendering, and performance investigations. I combine that experience with 16 years across SEO, digital marketing technology, and web development. The scope for your platform starts with its own inventory, architecture, and business priorities.
Can you work on a marketplace with millions of pages?
Yes. We can investigate the platform by page type, URL pattern, and representative samples, using crawl, log, and search evidence where available. We agree on access and data coverage before defining the investigation.
Should every filter combination be indexed?
We should assess the customer need, available inventory, page content, and overlap with other pages. The aim is to define useful combinations and a consistent technical approach to the rest of the URL set.
What should happen when a listing expires?
That depends on whether the page still helps a visitor, whether the item can return, and whether there is a relevant replacement. I review the lifecycle with your team and document the appropriate response, content, and linking behaviour.
Can you support Arabic and English marketplaces?
Yes. We can scope the architecture and technical work across the relevant language and country versions. Project communication and developer requirements can be in English.
Can you join our product and development workflow?
Yes. I can work through technical tickets, review planned features, and help define validation before a release. A project can focus on one platform issue or continue as ongoing consulting.
Share your platform URL, markets, main categories, and approximate listing volume. Include the page types or indexing changes you are concerned about, along with any upcoming platform release.
